Please contact the basecamp at least the day prior to your intended arrival so we can include you in a team and put your name on the dinner list.  If possible, you should aim to arrive prior to 5pm. 

DIRECTIONS to basecamp:   Lake King is located 72km north of Ravensthorpe. 

Volunteers should not arrive until after Sunday 12th March. 

There are limited powered sites for caravans/motorhomes.  Tent sites are also available. 

** Please ensure your tetanus vaccination is up to date and that you are covered for ambulance transport.

There is a local shop, fuel outlet and post office.  There is no pharmacy so please ensure you bring your medications.  Nearest pharmacy at Ravensthorpe, 72km south. 

BREAKFAST:  From 6.30am
MUSTER:  7.15am  Mandatory for all volunteers working that day.

If you are volunteering for a day at a time then returning home, you MUST be at our basecamp no later than 7am each morning and we MUST know that you are coming.

Camp Details:  Teams are made up each afternoon for the following day so it’s imperative that we know you’re coming.  Volunteers will be formed into teams and travel to their allocated property, usually in the one vehicle.  ALL volunteers must attend a morning muster at  the basecamp prior to travelling to a property.

Accommodation: Limited powered sites for caravans/motorhomes and NO dump point is available.  Tent sites are also available. 

At this point in time, there may not be room for those without their own accommodation.  

Meals:  All meals will be provided.  Anyone with special dietary requirements may need to provide their own meals.

Other Details:  Prior to arriving, we would appreciate a call a day or so beforehand so we can place you into a team and allow for catering purposes.  We need to know beforehand that you are coming.

Our insurance covers all volunteers over the age of 12 years.  Children must be in the company of a parent at all times.

We will provide Personal Protective Equipment however, it you have some good work gloves, we would appreciate it if you brought them with you.

Dogs.  There is nothing to prevent you from bringing your dog however the property owner might not allow you to take it out to the property.  All dogs must be kept under control and on a leash at all times and will not be allowed near any food preparation/serving area.

What To Bring: 

Old clothes – preferably long pants and long sleeved shirt (needed to help protect you from sunburn and barbed wire scratches); a broad-brimmed hat; solid soled shoes/boots; medications (there is a pharmacy in the town).
